Puppy Grooming

Prices Starting from £48

A gentle and positive way to introduce your puppy to the grooming process. I help puppies become familiar with the sights, sounds and handling involved in grooming, building confidence for future visits.

Puppies can begin their journey from 12 weeks old, or two weeks after their second vaccination. I will always work at your puppy's pace, putting their comfort and welfare first in my quiet, one-to-one mobile grooming salon.

My puppy introduction grooming appointments may include:

  • Gentle brushing and coat handling
  • A puppy bath and brush
  • Becoming familiar with professional drying
  • Calm exposure to grooming equipment and sounds
  • Gentle handling of paws, face and body
  • Nail trimming, where suitable
  • Face, feet and hygiene trimming where appropriate
  • Learning to stand calmly on the grooming table
  • Time to explore and settle into the grooming environment

Every puppy is an individual. This is particularly helpful for puppy grooming for nervous puppies, as I can adjust each appointment around their confidence, coat type and needs.

How Much Does a Dog Groom Cost?

If you are comparing dog grooming prices in Chertsey, my grooming appointments start from £48. The final price depends on your dog's size, breed, coat type, coat condition, temperament and the grooming service required. For More detailed pricing explore my services above.

I will always discuss your dog's needs before confirming an appointment, so you have a clearer idea of the most suitable service and likely cost. My aim is to provide professional dog grooming within a 25 mile radios of Chertsey, Surrey with transparent, thoughtful recommendations rather than a one-size-fits-all service.

Breed-Standard or Personalised Dog Grooming

Your dog's finished style can be tailored to a traditional breed-standard look or a practical, personalised style that works for everyday life. I am happy to discuss your preferences before I begin, including coat length, maintenance needs and the look that best suits your dog.

If you are unsure what would be suitable, I can recommend options based on your dog's breed, coat type and home grooming routine.

Premium Grooming Products

At Bridge & Bark Mobile Dog Groomer, I use professional-quality equipment, shampoos and conditioners chosen to suit your dog's individual skin and coat. I do not believe in using the same product on every dog.

Selecting the right products can make a real difference to coat condition, cleanliness and comfort. From curly Poodle-type coats to short, smooth or double coats, I take a considered approach to dog coat grooming at every appointment.

Want to know more about MY Dog Grooming services?

How often should my dog be professionally groomed?

This depends on your dog's breed, coat type, lifestyle and the length you prefer to maintain. Many dogs benefit from a regular grooming schedule, particularly breeds with continuously growing or easily tangled coats. I will recommend a grooming interval based on your dog's individual needs.

How long does a dog grooming appointment take?

The length of an appointment depends on your dog's breed, coat condition, size, temperament and the service required. Because every dog is different, I don't work to a fixed time for every groom. I allow the time needed to groom your dog safely and to a high standard.

Should I book a full groom or a mini groom for my dog?

A full groom is suitable when your dog needs bathing, drying, brushing, clipping, scissoring or a complete tidy. A mini groom is ideal between full grooms to freshen the coat with a deep cleanse and thorough brush-out.

How often should my dog have a mini groom between full grooms?

This depends on your dog’s coat and lifestyle, but a mini groom can be useful between regular full grooming appointments, especially after muddy walks, during shedding periods or when extra coat maintenance is needed.

Can you groom puppies?

Yes. Introducing a puppy to grooming gradually can help them develop positive experiences around grooming. We can discuss an appropriate puppy grooming programme based on your puppy's age, breed, coat and individual needs.

Do you groom all breeds and sizes of dogs?

I welcome many different breeds, coat types and sizes of dogs. Because every dog is different, please contact me if you have any questions about whether I am able to accommodate your dog's individual grooming requirements.

What if my dog doesn't like grooming?

Please don't worry. You're not alone! Some dogs find grooming challenging, particularly if they have had previous negative experiences, have not been groomed regularly, or are uncomfortable with certain aspects of the process. I’ll always work with your dog's individual needs and welfare in mind. If I feel that continuing would cause undue stress, I will discuss this with you.

What happens if my dog's coat is in poor condition?

Your dog's coat will be assessed when I arrive. If the coat condition means that the requested style cannot be achieved safely, I will explain the options available. Sometimes a shorter clip is necessary to protect your dog's welfare and allow the coat to start again in a healthier condition.

What if my dog is nervous or has never been groomed before?

That's absolutely fine. I understand that every dog is an individual. As a City & Guilds Level 3 qualified groomer, I take a patient and welfare-focused approach to handling and grooming. Your dog's behaviour, confidence and comfort will be considered throughout the appointment. If your dog becomes particularly stressed, I will discuss the situation with you and agree on the safest way forward.

Will you de-mat my dog's coat?

Where it is appropriate and in your dog's best interests, I may carefully remove small areas of manageable matting. I do not undertake prolonged or extensive de-matting where doing so could compromise your dog's welfare. If a coat is severely matted, clipping may be the safest and most humane option.
